Suggest Treatment For Broken Elbow While On Plavix
Question: Hi
Fell face down onto marble floor in my house friday night. Went to er walked in.
Found broken elbow in 2 places left arm.
I had also hit my left thigh on corner small step. While i was at er i felt excruciating pain in the thigh and it blew up swollen giant. I coul not move it.
They took xray not broken but told me i had giant hemtoma.
Pain so bad almost passed out.
I am on plavix for a lone afib 6 years ago from high stress only one episode.
I now have no pain if i do not move. Have been applying ice lying in bed. Thigh still hard i cannot put sny pressure or stand up.
I am worried because cannot go bathroom. Between left arm broben and big leg.
Any advise

Brief Answer:
Need to do ultradound
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
You should do ultrasound to see the progress of hematoma and its relation to large blood vessels if the thigh. In some cases hematoma should be drained out to prevent so called compartment syndrome. xrays is not enough you should do ultrasound or ct scan. Wish you good health. Regards
