Suggest Treatment For Boil In Anal Area
Question: Hello doctor. I have a boil in anus opening and it drained sometime and come back again.initially i seen doctor and he has given me some antibiotic and cream but it is not effective and as i am in merchant navy and not get any medical assistance while onboard so it exist from last 1 year.still the same filled pus,drain amd come back again. Pls give me some solid solution. And hygienically i am taking care of that.

I understand your concern.
As per your description you, possibly seem to have perianal abscess.
Normally imaging modalities are not required in diagnosis of PERIANAL ABSCESS.
Since it is not resolving over a time period, we need to know its deeper and lateral extension if any.
For this, I advise you to get a CT scan of the Pelvis or a trans perineal ultrasonography.
These investigations have excellent resolution to detect the exact location of the abscess and its extent.
Further management whether medical or surgical is based on the test results.
In case results favor medical management ,then it becomes prudent use antibiotics of higher efficacy.
Update me with test results.
