Suggest Treatment For Blurred Vision And Floaters

default
Posted on Wed, 14 Dec 2016
Question: I have had blurry vision, floaters, and sometimes slight cloudiness in my left eye for some time. I went to the eye doctor who said she felt like she was seeing some retinal scarring, and was unable to get my vision to 20/20 in either eye with any of the lenses. A new glasses prescriptions helped a lot at first, but my left eye is still blurry now even with the glasses. I'm not diabetic, and I have both blue blocker lenses and transitions lenses, but neither seem to completely help they way they did a few months ago. I'm only 34.

I did just add some extra details about health history and medications, so I hope those came through for you. I am a pediatric CV Critical Care Nurse, so feel free to use medical terms vs. laymens.

Brief Answer:
blurry vision with floaters and cloudiness. hole detachment tear to be seen

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting your query at HealthcareMagic.

For blurry vision refraction is to be done. But as you have informed lot of floaters and retinal scars it may be retinal tear holes or peripheral detachment. For this fundus examination is to be done by indirect ophthalmoscope to cover wider area. To be kept under observation and fundus examination is to be repeated to observe retinal condition for progress or further deterioration. It appears in left eye macula have been affected. In your case it is mono ocular so no systemic disease can be the cause. In that case it would have been bilateral. Near vision is to be corrected. Since you are 34 it may be starting early or having too much near work including computer or defective posture in reading. It may be having dry eye for which you should go for strip test. Apply refresh tear eye drop if required.
