Suggest Treatment For Acne On The Face And Arms

default
Posted on Thu, 16 Feb 2017
Question: Hi, I am 29 yr old unmarried, height - 5'3" and weight - 54kg. I have acne problems on my face and arms. I went for the checkup and skin doctor told me that I am suffering from PCOD. I went to ultrasound and found that both ovaries shows small cyst arranged peripherally measuring 5-6 mm. My doctor has advised me to start taking Krimson-35 tablet and Isotroin tablets too for my regular periods which was irregular earlier. And also he has advised to continue Krimson - 35 upto 1 year which is very long term.
It's been four months and now I have started feeling weakness and sometimes vomiting and indigestion too. Even my periods are not coming properly(very less bleeding with clotting which is not like earlier). I am not sure Should I stop taking those medicines because whenever I go to that doctor he always say I have to continue that medicines.

Brief Answer:
Krimson 35 should be continued for a year

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
PCOS is a problem of hormonal disturbance in which there are irregular periods, irregular ovulation, acne and hirsutism.
The mainstay for treatment is weight reduction and oral contraceptives like krimson 35 or Diane 35.
The treatment needs to be taken for a year to make the hormonal profile normal.
Scanty blood flow during periods is normal while on oral contraceptive pills, and there is nothing to worry in this concern. Moreover, gastritis, nausea and vomiting are common side effects of pills.
Isotretinoin is given for severe acne. It needs to be taken as your dermatologist has prescribed.
I will suggest you to complete the treatment.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
