Question: Hello,

I recently submitted a question for an option on a skin issue and the doctor didnt think it was anything to worry about. I have a huge fear of cancer and lately i have been thinking many things are cancer.
History:
2 months ago i have had a lower body skin check
2 weeks an upper body skin check
2 weeks ago a physical
With in a year, coloscopy
Pelvic ultrasound
Stomach kindey pancreas (all areas in the region ) ultrasound

All reports have been good / negative

My current issue is i noticed this spot on my leg and with my history of worry i keep thinking it is melanoma - it resembles a little dry spot but i do not know how long it has been there. I will make an appointment with my doctor once we get into town at the end of the wek but just wanted another opinion so i can stop worrying. Please let me know what you think please.

On my leg is bites as well bit this one isn't a bite- we are moving to the south and their are bugs everywhere

Brief Answer:
need not to worry

Detailed Answer:
hi madam,
i respect your feelings and your concern towards your health.
in my opinion this is not melanoma. there are many causes for such pigmentation. one common cause is trauma. it may be a benign nevus. best thing presently is to have a close observation on it. if it changes in shape, size or color, we should biopsy it.
if still you are not able to come out of your worry, one can do an excision biopsy. biopsy will give you final diagnosis. to take a small biopsy is easy and can be done in local anaesthesia. this will remove the spot forever.
feel free to ask further.

Brief Answer:
yes

Detailed Answer:
in my opinion this does't seem to be like melanoma. usually melanoma lesions are more pigmented, have irregular borders. sometimes there may be non pigmented melanoma (amelanotic melanoma). here you should feel it. if it is elevated from surface or not. the lesion on your leg seems to be different. the focus of picture is also not proper. have your consultation with free mind.

Brief Answer:
consult a good dermatologist

Detailed Answer:
hi madam,
dead skin over the lesion usually favors benign lesion, usually inflammatory.
little elevated lesion may be benign may be malignant, difficult to say with this much information. best is to consult a good dermatologist, he will give you a clue to diagnosis and if needed he will do a biopsy.
