Question: Hello, Dr. Mody. Just one other question about the E/A ratio. Is the fact that it is "reversed" considered a matter of serious concern, or is it something that can change back and forth? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
E/ A eat it reversal suggest Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction

Detailed Answer:
Hello
E by a ratio reversal suggests Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction of the heart .
Again this is due to age related impairment of the relaxation of the heart .
It's very common to have this in general population, particularly in hypertensive .
So again there is not much in terms of treatment which can change if , but some aerobic exercise everyday may help in its reversal .
It does not affect her overall well being and more or less the whole population above 50 years would have it .
