Suggest Remedy For White Pimples In Genital Area
Question: I wanted some information on some pimple like bumps appearing in my genital area. I have been sexually active with one partner for the last year but just started noticing them about 2 months ago and they appear to be getting more noticeable. At first they appeared as small white spots then turned into slightly larger clear bumps. I went to a dermatologist and have started treatment with an imiquimod cream prescribed by the doctor. Can you confirm this or should I get a second diagnosis.

I can see a few white, dome shaped bumps on scrotum. These seem to be lesions of Molluscum contagiosum, which is an infection caused by molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV).
Genital molluscum contagiosum is an STD i.e it is acquired by close/ sexual contact with an infected sexual partner.
Common treatment options for molluscum contagiosum include topical imiquimod cream Or electrocautery removal etc. Application of chemicals like Trichloroacetic acid, KOH( potasium hydroxide) are other options. Alternatively they can be also freezed with a liquid nitrogen tip applicator (crytherapy).
