Brief Answer:
It needs to be drained completely at home.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic.

Any abcess in any part of the body should be drained surgically (which is advisable) and the main purpose is to break all the septaes or pockets inside this abscess which prevents the recurrence and helps to heal the wound properly with antibiotics.

If your abscess has already ruptured and starts draining the pus then in my advice, you can let the pus to drain by squeezing it repeatedly and wash the wound with antiseptic soap and water at your home.

After that I would advice you to see doctors help for at least once to drain the remaining pus and break all the sepates and pockets and in order to have a complete healing of the wound and to prevent the recurrence.

You may need to continue antibiotics for few more days and your doctor will prescribe it.

Hope this will help you.

Regards,
