Suggest Remedy For Persistent Breathing Difficulty
Question: Hello I have been having discomfort while breathing for some years, it sounds like an hiccup or like I want to cough, sometimes I don't even notice it but people around me bring it to my attention that I'm breathing hard, its worse sometimes. I have observed this for more than 10years and I'm 34 yrs now. Please what could this be and what can I do to relieve it?

Discomfort in breathing, hard breathing, cough etc are seen in asthma and bronchitis.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done. 1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test)
3. Chest x ray.
Chest x ray is needed to rule out other lung diseases.
PFT is must for the diagnosis of bronchitis and asthma. It will also tell you about severity of the disease. And treatment is based on severity only.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).
So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
