Posted on Mon, 4 Jan 2016
Question: I have found a lump on my right breast under the skin. there is some redness/brown look around it...it does not hurt/ not painful at all. Is this something I should be concerned with. I have no knowledge of injuring myself to cause this. I just realized it was there 2 days ago

Brief Answer:
Possible abscess

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.

Well I've gone through your question as well as the image and it looks to me like possible local subcutaneous infection such as abscess or cellulitis or inflamed fibroma.

It may be caused by injury but if you don't recall it then it can be ruled out. Some more serious diagnoses are rare in your age so you don't need to be concerned. I suggest to apply cold compression , take Tab PARACETAMOL 650mg Three times a day after food for the next 3 days and follow progression of redness.

If there is increasing pain or redness size or fever, then it may be abscess which require antibiotic therapy.

otherwise,it should pass on its own. In either case, it is advisable to do ultrasound when this redness pulls back.

Wish you good health.
Regards
