Question: Hey my boyfriend is having severe hemorrhoidal pain, is it OK for him to take hydrocodone for the pain we have tried all over-the-counter treatments bath, it's not working and he's laying here in pain

he can take it but it may not help since hemorrhoids cause local pain and oral analgesic may not work completely. It would be better to apply local cream (steroid or xilocaion), have sitz baths, and soften stool. Also,if there is hard bleeding,he should see proctologist. Wish you good health. Regards

Where can i get Steroid or Xilocaion? Would a muscle relaxer help relax his anus to stop twitching...? Thats the most painful part

Systemic muscle relaxant won't help. He can try with topical glyceryl trinitrate 0.2% or xilocain or lidocaine gel. However,in such severe cases it may 've required to do schlerotherpy or local anaesthetic injections performed by doctor.
