Suggest Remedies For Severe Fungal Infection In The Fingernail

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Jan 2017
Question: I have severe fingernail fungus that I have tried everything with no results. I took two rounds of oral lamisil and every over the counter and home remedy there is. It is unsightly and embarrassing. I'm losing hope. Is there anything that will cure it?

Brief Answer:
Capsule itraconazole or tablet fluconazole

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have gone through your complaints and understand your concern.
Sometimes the fungi infecting the nail are resistant to lamisil and that's why your infection is not getting cured with it.
You definitely require oral antifungal to treat fungal nail infection.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to take capsule itraconazole 200 mg twice daily for 1 week in a month for 2-3 months or tablet fluconazole 200 mg twice weekly for 5-6 months.
These are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
These should help your fungal infection.

Dr Asmeet
