Suggest Remedies For Cervical Spondylosis And Vertigo

default
Posted on Tue, 26 Apr 2016
Question: Hi! Ive been suffering from post concussive symptoms and cervical vertigo for about a year and a half now. Finally i am working with an excellent physical therapist who has been doing vestibular therapy and manual therapy on my neck so after she works on my neck and i turn my head- the positional vertigo is less. But i only see her once a week so after a few days- it goes back to horrible vertigo. I just received trigger point injections in the lower neck yesterday and I dont feel much of a difference, however my doctor suggested to do it in the actual neck next time but i was worried. My doctor also didnt put too much lidocaine in bc i was worried about an adverse reaction so she did dry needling and then put a little lidocaine. She said it may take a few days to see the results. Is this true? And i am very sore. Can this potentially help with the cervica vertigo and should i do therapy more than once a week? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Continue physiotherapy daily and take medications

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Cervical spondylosis and vertigo both get great benefits if vertigo exercises and neck isometric exercises done.
The vertigo exercises leads to rehabilitation and greater tolerance to position induced vertigo.
Neck exercises leads to strengthening of muscle and reduced disc compression.
Vascular compression also releases to some extent.
The injection can be continued but medications like pregabalin, gabapentin, amitryptiline may also help.
Exercises should be done daily according to the guidance of your physiotherapist.
Provide any reports or imaging if available.
Hope you recover early.
