Suggest Medication For Lymph Node Swelling Under The Jawline Of A Child

Question: Hello Doc,

My 6 yr old daughter is having swelling in lymph node under right jawline. She is saying there is mild pain. Happened overnight. Please suggest possible antibiotics and anti inflammatory to reduce the swelling. I believe its due to bacterial infection.

She does have a tooth infection i feel; we had got done root canal some time back for her; there is no other symptom no fever no cold and no sore throat. She has always problem with brushing her teeth she doesn;t like to.. any suggestions please?

Hi,

Kindly confirm with a pediatrician or ENT specialist if there is a bacterial infection or not. Are there any other symptoms? How long is the lymph node enlarged? Is there any problem/infection with her teeth?

For isolated lymph node enlargement for a few days, nothing needs to be done. Best is to solve the cause of lymph node enlargement.

Amoxicillin is considered safe is children.
