Suggest For Hair Loss Inspite Of Taking Isotroin

Question: Hi doctor,

I have been on isotroin 10mg for almost 2 and half months, twice daily and ever since i started taking this medicine i have been facing hair loss. I already had less hair but now even more hair loss is occurring. What is the precaution i should take? Can i use hair gain tonic for hairs?

ISOTRETINOIN is known to cause hair thinning and hair loss and I suspect you also have androgenic alopecia which would worsen the hair loss.

You will have to weigh the risks and benefits of taking Isotretinoin, if taking this medicine is unavoidable then you can consider applying a topical solution such as minoxidil 2%.

I would suggest you to review with your dermatologist once before deciding on further course of action.
