Question: Hello,
From last few years my health is continuously going down.
I have continuous headache, cold and mucus developing in my nose.
Few days back while blowing out mucus from my nose I noticed a worm in the mucus.
After reading online I tried Mebendazole and albendazole.
Both medicine improves my condition although albendazole results better.
I have not gone through any test or consulted any doctor and I am not getting rid of also completely from my condition. I tried 1 or 2 tablets in a week.
Could you pls suggest what should I do or what is the suggested safe dosage course to get rid of worms.
I am male of 33 yrs from West XXXXXXX

Regards,

Brief Answer:
Nasal smear, microscopic examination of worm, steam inhalation & antihistamine

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome
I have gone through your query.

Get a nasal smear or get the worms examined microscopically to confirm the exact species you are dealing with. You could be dealing with Enterobiasis, Strongyloides or some other threadworm or parasite.

I would suggest you see ENT specialist, for examination and further help.
I would advice you not to take any medication without consulting as the drugs have their own adverse effects.

Presently I would suggest to do steam inhalation with few eucalyptus oil, three to four times a day. Take over the counter oral antihistamine like ceterizine which will be helpful. To address the pain you can take, over the counter analgesic like paracetamol, twice daily after food, for two days.

Regarding the worm, it is difficult to comment without actually seeing it and also without examining your nose. Kindly stop the Anthelmintic, that you are taking.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
