Suggest Alternative Drugs To Vyvanse
Question: Hi I am currently and have been consistently seeing psychiatrists for over two years now - I am currently taking 150 mb Effexor and 50 mg vyvanese - my shrink is unreachable until Tuesday and I am currently out of Vyvanese - I currently work for XXXXXXX Benz corporate head quarters (12 years) we are very short staffed and currently submitting numbers to Germany for the quarter close so I was looking to either get a lower or higher dose of vyvanese (not a full month script) or short term adderall script to get me through the work weekend - any suggestions on what I should do? I have consistently been on vyvanese for two snd a half years and have also taken adderall - advice please! Thanks in advance

Vyvanse is an amphetamine drug and the drug is commonly used in ADD and a number of other disorders. The drug is a controlled drug and need proper prescription. I am sorry to say but even if you are on treatment with a Psychiatrist even then you will need proper written prescription by your psychiatrist. If you are out of Vyvanse currently then in such case best is to visit your psychiatrist again and ask for refill. If that is not possible then visit a doctor nearby and explain your situation clearly and explain that you are under treatment of a psychiatrist and have gone out of supply and you may develop withdrawal. This may help you in getting a prescription for few days.
If Vyvanse is not available then other drugs like Methylphenidate or Adderall can help for short term.
Even by any way you fail to take refill then other medicines like Modafinil or Armodafinil can help to maintain concentration and may prevent withdrawal to some extent. Taking the prescription of these drugs is relatively easy. Visit a doctor for proper written prescription.
