Question: Spotting before periods

Answered by Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal (18 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Can be a hormonal abnormality.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Mild spotting before the actual beginning of the period can be a sign of impending periods. This can be related to mild hormonal disturbance or stress also. Using hormonal tablets irregularly can also cause such issues. Wait for a few days for the actual periods to begin. In case the problem is recurrent then consider consulting your gynecologist for a few tests and proper prescription medicines.
Hope this answer is helpful.

Brief Answer:
Ultrasound scan will detect PCOD.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
It is good that your periods have started.
PCOD can be detected after an ultrasound scan. Do consult your gynecologist and get the required investigations done to find out if you have PCOD or not.
Spotting prior to periods is not suggestive of PCOD.
