Question: Since I started taking Rosuvastatin, I have almost completely lost my appetite. I am a diet and exercise controlled diabetic. Why does the sight of food nauseate me

Hi,

Rosuvastatin is one among well-tolerated medication. But in some individuals, it may cause gastric and or liver inflammation. Your appetite may be affected in such cases. Alternatively, the loss of appetite may be unrelated and caused by an independent medical condition.

It's going to be difficult to understand which of the two possibilities is the real cause unless we run some tests. I will suggest talking to your treating doctor. If deemed necessary a complete blood count, liver enzymes and ultrasound scan may be performed. Further management will be based on results on these tests.
