What Causes Pain In My Left Testes, Gradual Increase In Size Of The Spinal Cord And Funicullitis?

Posted on Fri, 29 Sep 2023
Question: Pain in my left teste. Have had in mildly for years. I’m 27 and healthy. The past few days my teste has really been hurting. On and off and the spermatic cord has gotten bigger. Only on the left side. I’m not noticing a bulge anywhere. I do believe I have Vericocele; I’m hoping not a hernia. I’m just wondering why the vericocele wouldn’t be causing pain all of a sudden. Any help would be great, thank you!

Brief Answer:
Need to consult qualified General Surgeon or Urologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .
Based on the facts that you have posted pain in left testicle that you have could be mostly due to either Varicocele or Infection of spermatic cord (Funicullitis)

Consult qualified Urologist or General surgeon for clinical examination and get following basic tests done to establish diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and Urine culture
2) Ultrasound Scanning of abdomen and scrotum
3) Color Doppler Scan of Scrotum .

In the mean time start taking anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily .

Yes, than you

I'm quite sure I have Vericocele and have had it since I was around 15 years old. However, in the past it has only bothered me sparingly. Why do you think it could all of a sudden be causing me more pain than ever before?? I have been exercising hard and may have strained myself. It has been a pretty consistent dull ache for 3-4 days now. I have been resting as my body is telling me not to strain myself in fear of seriously injuring myself. Can vericocele cause this type of pain??

Hello

Heavy exercise can cause sudden increase in intra abdominal pressure and agrevate pain

You can use scrotal support in addition to pain killers

However it is important to get it confirmed by doing the tests suggested done to confirm the diagnosis It will help us to decide whether you need surgery or it can be managed with conrvative measures
