Brief Answer:
He should see a psychiatrist

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for using ask a doctor service

He has physical stress due to his knee injuries, mental stress due to ongoing physical issues and also due to illness of his son. All these things are collectively worsening his anxiety.

Could you please let me know what kind of treatment he is taking for anxiety?

If he is on medicines then which medicines he is taking?

Anxiety can be treated with medicines and also with psychosocial therapies. CBT or cognitive behaviour therapy is used for reducing anxiety. Medicines will help in early recovery.

For anxiety evaluation his routine blood work up, ECG, thyroid function tests etc should be done. This will help to rule out any physical cause for his anxiety. Please take him to a psychiatrist for help.

Thanks
