Please provide some more information

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using "Ask a doctor" service.

Looks like your partner has quite a healthy lifestyle. That is good.
In order to give proper advice I would need to know some more information about her.
How old is she and how much is her weight and length?
Since when has she noticed this swelling?
Is the swelling constant or more in the morning or more in the evening?
Has she ever checked her blood pressure?
Does she has any other disease or health condition? Diabetes?
How is her mesnstrual period?
Do you think this swelling is related with the time when the menstrual period comes?

The more information you will give, better I will be able to advice and help.

Looking forward to your follow up question.

Continue eating healthy and exercise regularly.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for the follow up question and the photo.

From what you are describing seems like your partner is quite healthy except of overweight.
If she has checked her kidney function and it was normal, then the swelling is probably local due to vein insufficiency. She can try to avoid that by not staying for long time in one place, and trying to be active as much as possible. Drinking a lot of water helps a lot.

About the underchin, it is not possible to remove specific parts of fat in our body. She should just continue to eat healthy and exercise regularly. Once she has a lifestyle where she uses more then takes calories then she will start losing fat from her body. And that fat can go gradualilly away from other parts of her body where it is present, or from the underchin area.

I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Dr. Papaqako
