Brief Answer:
Local or general factors as discussed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query about your daughter who underwent bariatric surgery - hole in stomach after 2 years of surgery - no healing after 4 and half months of stent, feeding tube, drain treatment. Wants to know options.
My thoughts as per short history as exact reports are not available: Would like to know more.
- Where exactly is the hole?
- Please post reports about contrast enhanced studies CT scan, of blood and other tests - particularly hemoglobin, serum proteins, kidney and liver functions.
- The reasons for avoiding surgery by the surgeons. There may be a cause why surgical repair is postponed.
- Endoscopy, biopsy reports if done.

* Well maintained hemoglobin, albumin (proteins) helps in healing.
* Nutritional deficiencies delay or do not allow natural healing.
* Any obstruction to free flow of food/liquids in distal part of intestines say like stricture or so hinders proximal healing.
* Local factors like less blood supply, pancreatic fluid, fibrosis, cancer are some of the causes of non-healing.
* Surgeon's decision will depend on above as well as many other factors. Your discussions with Doctors? Please give details.
I hope, this answer helps you.

With regards.
