Question: My 22 months old son suddenly had high fever at night (I.e above 102 degree suddenly ) after 4 hours of paracetamol he got seizure for less than a minute . This is his second episode , first one was at 14 months post MMR vaccine . This time we took him to doctor immediately and doctor prescribed fresium 1 mg . We gave the tablet and paracetamol but after 4 hr the high fever and seizure came back . This time little strong and we used 1 puff of Midaz spray within 1 minutes and he came back to XXXXXXX . Then we took him to the hospital and UTI was diagonised . After treating with anotibiotcs he is normal . But after returning back home we noticed that when he talks he is repeating the single words many times “ mom mom mom “ and almost after a week he is stuttering the first word “tttttea” but this is only when he is forming the sentence and sometimes he get frustrated and keeps hand in mouth and tries hard to start the words. His sentence formation has started recently and we are confused whether this is related to post seizure effect or it’s a phase that a child undergoes when they learn the sentence formation . Pls advise .by the way he is an early talker .

Brief Answer:
This is definitely not related to the seizure

Detailed Answer:
Hi... this is definitely not related to the seizure which he has got.
What your child has experienced two times is only simple febrile seizure, which is very common and Packers in almost 4% of general population.
The stuttering of words during the sentence formation is also common and occurs in who see people who has stuttering and start imitating the same.
The best way out is to encourage the child to talk slowly and the adults in the family also should be talking each word slowly, so that the child will learn by seeing them.
Encourage by two or three word sentence formation initially and asking him to repeat the same slowly.
I again reassure you that this is not at all related to the febrile seizure he has experienced.
