Brief Answer:
in keeping with the flu

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, it is possible that it is the flu.

The flu and the routine cough and cold virus would both cause sore throat, headache, fever, cough and nasal symptoms but in the flu the symptoms are typically more severe and there is associated muscle and/or joint pain.

The fact that she is experiencing the aches and pains points to the fact that it may be the flu.

Most persons recover with no complications at all except a little more fatigue. In some persons with a previous history of the flu, the fatigue can last 2 weeks after the other symptoms have resolved.

Treatment generally involves: (1)rest, fluids, paracetamol or ibuprofen to help with the fever and aches

(2): with regard to the chills, she may be tempted to bundle up, this is the natural response but this actually causes the temperature to increase further so she needs to try and cool her body down with cool liquids, cool clothing and tepid sponging (along with the meds mentioned)

(3)chloroseptic spray or gargle or diflam or covonia throat spray- would help with the sore throat

If she feels very unwell, it may be best to take her to be seen by her doctor

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
