My 1 Year Old Has Been Sick For 9 Days.

Question: My 1 year old has been sick for 9 days. It started with a low fever, congestion, and red watery eyes. By day 5 he developed a wet cough and day 6 started inconsolably crying and tugging his ear. He saw his pediatrician and she said he had an ear infection and prescribed amoxicillin. I have also been giving Motrin for pain, running a humindifier, patting his back with a silicone cup to break up the congestion, using saline spray, and suctioning out his nose.

We are now at Day 9 and his ear seems better but he is still congested and coughing. When he breathes, I can feel vibration in his back from the congestion. He hasn%E2%80%99t been eating his solid and is nursing less than usual but he is having wet diapers every 5-6 hours. He is breathing 58 times in a minute. His owlet says his oxygen is 97 right now but every hour or so will dip down to 93-94 (once it went to 89 but only for 5 minutes). His heart rate awake is 178 and when sleeping is 152. I have albuterol and nebulizer for him because he has compromised airways from RSV when he was a premie. Could I try giving him a treatment? His doctor said when he gets sick he may need a treatment but I%E2%80%99ve never had to do one before. Should I have him seen by a doctor? If so, should I bring him to urgent care in the morning or wait for the pediatrician to open back up on Monday?

Brief Answer:
Hii. Please consult an paediatrician immediately and don't wait for Monday.

Detailed Answer:
Hii. Please consult an paediatrician immediately and don't wait for Monday. He is having acute bronchitis with lower respiratory tract infection. It can be any bacterial infection of the lungs, any infection of the tonsils, it can be diphtheria also. So please check his chest, ear nose and oral cavity. Continue the nebuliser till you visit a doctor. Send a throat swab for culture and sensitivity. You can start saline nasal drop in the nose. Check temperature periodically. Please consult immediately. He needs immediate treatment with antibiotics, oxygen. Please review if you have any queries.
