I’m Writing To Ask Your Opinion If I Had Been

Question: I’m writing to ask your opinion if I had been drugged. A few nights ago I experienced an unusual occurrence. I was at a friend’s house (female) and we were conversing and drinking wine. I arrived with half a small bottle of Chardonnay which we shared (one glass each). She brought out another large bottle of wine and poured us each a glass. I felt fine. But the wine tasted funny to me. I wrote it off as just being a wine I didn’t like. She poured me a second glass which I never touched. I noticed that her first glass from this bottle was untouched. I excused myself to go to the bathroom. I still felt fine. While trying to refold a hand towel I noticed some problem with coordination but I still felt fine. I started to leave the bathroom and the next thing I knew I was cold, lying on the floor in the hallway with bruises on the inside of my wrists and a bruise on my upper thigh. Obviously I must have lost consciousness and fallen but I have no knowledge of it happening. I did not consume large quantities of alcohol, just the one glass from the half bottle that I had brought and one glass from her bottle that tasted funny to me. My question is, do you think I might have been drugged? This has been weighing on me since the other person is my cousin.

Brief Answer:
Fan of mystery stories...

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking,

I'm reading one and seeing about 5 detective series on video. So, I would have to ask what motive? If something is missing, changed in position, or added, then there might be a reason for knocking someone out. Using you as a test subject prior to using it on the real target?
Ok, here is how to tell for MOST of it.

Pharmacies have urine testing kits that are quite good. It would show Xanax, barbiturate, and most other benzodiazepines and opiates (unlikely to work).

GHB is a common knock out drop. However, I am unconvinced that the standard pharmacy detection kits would find it. It would have to be ordered specifically by a physician and sent to a dedicated lab. The window is under a day to detect BUT urine will keep for a week in a refrigerator and a standard urine specimen cup is about a dollar from a good pharmacy. Get the urine NOW get the test soon.....or...wait a month if the amount was small, it might not show up. Other drugs will.

The knock out drops used previously CHLORAL HYDRATE. You won't detect it. You'd think it would come back into favor because it is really hard to detect even if you specifically look for it.

AND.... there are a wide variety of things that can increase inebriation. The wife got drunk once in the last 20 years. It was on about 3 glasses of wine.

Other sedatives increase the action of alcohol especially even small amounts of opiates such as a 15 mg codeine cold medicine. For that matter, cold medicine with alcohol and dextromethorphan will increase the effect of alcohol. Antidepressants might. Lack of sleep will. Grapefruit juice influences it. Lack of food also increases the rate but not the extent of alcohol absorption. Being sick will make one more susceptible.

But mainly, why would anyone do that? And what did they say happened?

Regards
