default
Posted on Mon, 26 Oct 2015
Question: Late last week continuing into this week I am undergoing two emergency root canal surgeries. This Friday I am scheduled to have cataract surgery. Should I advise my eye surgeon of my current dental surgery in case it might be advisable to postpone my eye surgery?

Brief Answer:
Cataract surgery should be postponed if it is not an emergency..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns. Yes please inform your eye doctor about your dental surgeries.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms if you are undergoing emergency root canal treatment and still the procedure is going on then the Cataract surgery should be postponed until the root canal treatment is complete..

I would like to know from you that whether the Cataract Surgery is also advised you to be done immediately or can be postponed..
In case if the Cataract Surgery is not an emergency it should be postponed till root canal gets completed as after Cataract surgery the dental treatment should be postponed for atleast 2 to 3 weeks and maximum of
6 weeks till complete healing takes place..

Any further queries and questions are welcome..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
