Question: I have had twiches all over for a year. Cramps in hands, feet, legs, neck, and ounce in a while tongue. Recently started to get very tired in the afternoon. Beginning to slur words once in a while. Feel that warm spot in my leg once in a while. Have had 2 EMG's in the past year. Nothing. MRI of skull and back shows nothing. It does show a Herniated disk between 4-5. Went to spine specialist, he said couldn't be cause of all this other stuff. Going back to Mayo in XXXXXXX Checked blood may times. No thyroid problem, no infections. Shallow breathing from diaphram weakness. Diagnoised COPD 1 year ago. Developed hoarsness. Went to throat specialist. Silent reflux. Been treeting for 7 months. Still hoars!! Anixety.........yes. Went to Mayo year ago. Only twitches and cramps then. Channalopothy. Obviously gotton worse. Going back to Mayo in January. ALS?? or something else?? Any Ideas? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Possible causes listed below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. About your question, according to your symptoms ALS may be a possibility, but normal MRI and EMG findings make this possibility less probable. Since ALS is a excluding diagnosis, other causes of your symptoms are:
1. heavy metals poisoning
2. blood electrolyte levels especially Calcium and vitamin D levels
3. hyperparathyroidism
4.vitamin B1, B6, or B12 low levels.
5. Fibromyalgia.
I suggest you to include these possibilities in your discussion with your treating Doctor. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Brief Answer:
Another possibility to exclude.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for asking again. Another possibility to your symptoms is peripheral nerve hyperexcitability. This is a condition that may have a genetic cause or side effects from drugs and damage from toxins. You say blood tests normal. I think you need a hair toxins or heavy metals test to check for/ rule out toxic nerve damage. Hope this helps.
