How Can The Blood Blocked Sinuses Be Drained When The Septum Has Blocked The Port After Severe Injury?
Question: MY WIFE (MARIAN ARNTZ,,85 YEARS OLD )
FELL AND CRACKED SOME BONES IN HER HEAD , BROKE TEETH, NOCKED OUT BRIDGE..
BEFORE SHE CAN GET TEETH FIXED THE EAR NOSE AND THOUGHT DOCTOR SAID SHE HAS THE MAXILLARY SINUS FILLED WITH BLOOD AND NEEDS TO BE DRAINED , BEFORE SHE CAN HAVE DENTAL WORK, HE SAID THE PORT FOR THE SINUS IS CLOSED AND HE CAN NOT OPEN IT BECAUSE THE SEPTUM HAS BLOCKED THE PORT, WITH OUT A REDO OF THE SEPTUM..WE ARE HOPING TO FIND A DOCTOR WHO CAN DRAIN THE MAXILLARY SINUS WITH OUT DOING A MAJOR SEPTUM SURGERY

THE ENT MAN WANTS TO DO A SEPTUM SURGERY..WE ARE RELUCTANT FOR SUCH A SURGERY,,IS THERE NO OTHER WAY TO DRAIN THE SINUS?

As l far as non surgical treatment is concerned that is done by Antibiotics and pain relieving medicine.
They are used to treat infection. A 7 to 10 day course of medication is usually prescribed. Longer courses may be needed for cases of chronic condition.
Surgery is recommended for cases of recurrent or chronic condition where non-surgical treatment has not been effective. It aims to improve airflow and drainage, removing obstructions.
I will suggest you to consult an specialist ear nose and throat surgeon (otolaryngologist) go for treatment.
