Brief Answer:
Could you please tell me how you were treated the first time? thx

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Globes sensation or also known as globes hystericus (not commonly used today), can of course recur.

It is quite possible that this is the same condition, but what is more important is the treatment approach that was applied when you were first diagnosed. Could you please share with me your treatment regimen that was prescribed the first time around so I can comment further sir.

Thank you, and I look forward to helping you.

Best wishes.

8 years ago I was diagnosed with gerd.So for the first 4 years I was on prescription nexium and the last 4 years I have been taking the over the counter 20mg nexium once a day.So the answer would be the doctor 2 months ago didn't prescribe anything as I was already taking nexium.I have anxiety/panic attacks and he said that can also cause it along with my lifestyle habits fried food, alcohol, etc.

Brief Answer:
Yes, your lifestyle habits could be the main cause for the sensation

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

Thank you for that information.

You should know that GERD has one very common symptom of a sensation of a lump in the throat, so the globes sensation could either be associated with your GERD or your anxiety.

I would recommend the following:

1. Speak to your doctor about a long list of do's and don'ts for GERD with the entire set of instructions to maintain and manage GERD (if your doctor does not help you with that, you can ask me and I can help you with that information)

2. You speak to your psychiatrist about helping you with a mild anti-anxiety medication.

This way we can target both possible causes for your sensation in the throat, what do you think?

Best wishes.
