default
Posted on Fri, 23 Dec 2016
Question: Hi.. I am 1 week late on my periods. I had unprotected sex after 2 weeks of my periods end date. Tested home pregnancy kits 5 days ago it was negative . Then I tested again today with prega news and I-can test kit. Both are negative. Is it still possible that I am pregnant. ? I am feeling slight pain/cramps in lower abdomen since last 3,4 days. Slight vaginal discharge. And leg cramps sometimes too.

Brief Answer:
Repeat the test after one week

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Delayed periods can be due to pregnancy, stress or hormonal disturbances.
Unprotected intercourse in midcycle can lead to pregnancy.
Sometimes, the ovulation is delayed, so the conception can also be delayed leading to late detection of pregnancy by urine pregnancy test.
I will suggest you to repeat the urine pregnancy test after one week.
If still negative, then you should get your hormonal profile done to assess the diagnosis and get appropriate treatment timely.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
