Is Persistent Night Sweats A Sign Of Heart Attack?

default
Posted on Thu, 18 Oct 2018
Question: Periodically I have night sweats. Sometimes my pillow and t-shirt and soaking wet. Sometime it's the back of my neck while other times it's my chest. What causes that?

A friend told me that it could be a sign of a heart attack.
What's the truth and what can I do to prevent them?
Pomegranate juice has been suggested; would that work?

Brief Answer:

Night sweats in an elderly person.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Severe Arthritis, smoking/alcohol addiction and diabetes are principal reasons at this age for such sweating. Low blood sugar during the night because of poor diet in the evening would cause sweating.

It is important to investigate the reasons.
There are some serious reasons as well, which I do not want to mention as it would increase anxiety and more sweating.
Multiple medications also should be reviewed.
Pomegranate juice may not help all the time, but you can try.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
