Brief Answer:
Criteria explained below.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

There are well-defined criteria when to see a trauma Surgeon or Neurosurgeon after accidents.

These criteria include the mechanism and the severity of the accident, and mainly neurological symptoms.

Severe car accidents ( the car was damaged significantly or high-velocity accidents for example) require a medical evaluation of the persons involved in the accident.

Most important thing is if the person(s) involved in the accident have any neurological symptoms or visible damages.

These include loss of consciousness, nausea, vomiting, lethargy, vision, speech issues, raccoon eyes (Panda eyes), any limbs weakness, etc.

So, if any of the criteria above are met by you, you should see a Trauma Surgeon/ Neurosurgeon.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
