Question: My wife was diagnosed with gangrene in her left foot due to a blockage in her artery. Is gangrene considered a cancer? This question is asked to find out if any benefits should apply due to her Aflac cancer policy.

Brief Answer:
This is not a cancer.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Gangrene is not a cancer and it is not related, caused or anyhow connected with any cancer.
In other words gangrene is necrosis. Due to artery blockage tissues do not get oxygen supply and become necrotic.
So I do not think she should get anything from the policy.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
