Question: Dr. Rynne,
I am a healthy 67 year old male. Recently(3 months) when I urinate when I finish I tend to drizzle some urine after I am back in my shorts. This had never been a problem.

Thanks, XXXX YYYY@YYYY

Brief Answer:
Diagnosis: Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Thank you for your query.

You have posted in the general question platform at HeathcareMagic. So I am taking up your question for Dr.Rynne.
Drizzling towards and after the end of urine stream is suggestive of Benign Prostatic hypertrophy (prostate enlargement). It is the benign growth of prostate gland commonly occurring in people above 60 years.

Digital rectal examination is required to confirm the diagnosis. Treatment is with medications that improve urinary flow like Flomax.

Please be advised to follow up with your primary care provider for further evaluation and necessary management.

Hope this answers your question.
