I am scheduled to have a vaginal mesh implant removed. I will visit with my surgeon tomorrow and I want to know what my chances are of having all of the mesh removed. Also, will I have any kind of vaginal support afterwards.

Brief Answer: likely that whole mesh is removed Detailed Answer: Dear Ms XXXXXXX Usually the entire mesh is removed intact. The mesh usually used is non absorbable. It does not undergo degeneration to greater extent. After the mesh is put it induces severe fibrosis, this provides the support to the vagina. The induced fibrosis and adhesions created provides supports to the vagina. I hope it helped. If you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you. Take care Best Regards Dr T Shobha MBBS MD
