Brief Answer:
Needs monitoring.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Lymph node swelling are sometimes noted after a measles vaccine. However without a physical examination I cannot certainly confirm the swelling behind the neck is a lymph node. One another gland, a sebaceous gland is predominant in the location and the swelling can also arise from this gland.

With these consideration, I would suggest wait and observe (monitoring) option if the swelling is less than a centimeter is size. Any swelling larger than 1 cm; one that is painful and inflamed needs medical attention.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Brief Answer:
Wait for the results.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Based on the limited information provided I really cannot comment on the nature of this lump. As I mentioned earlier it could be related to lymph nodes - swelling secondary to vaccination or it could be due to other reasons. A physical examination of this lump goes in a long way to identify the probable nature and it's management. It would have helped if you had provide a picture of this lump. There is a feature to upload pictures here. You can use it to upload pictures and reports.

Meanwhile any lump that appears abruptly is usually benign and harmless. But lets wait for the test results.

Hope this helps.
Regards
