Is Rasagiline The Same As Azilect?

default
Posted on Tue, 30 May 2017
Question: I have parkinsons and take Azilect along with sinemet. I have a very sensitive stomach, but have not had issues with the azilect. Now my insurer tells me to switch from azilect to rasagiline. I see a side effect of rasagiline is nausea. But also see rasagiline called the generic azilect. My question is, are they basically the same medication.

They both are the same medication

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic

Azilect and genetic Rasagiline are the same medication.
So if you tolerated azilect well, there will be no problem switching to genetic Rasagiline.
