Does Taking Combination Of Medication Cause Blood In Urine?

Hi, I have recently had a flexible cystoscopy to check out my bladder which come back clear. The reason I was referred was because I was getting protein and blood in my urine although no infection. I had a CT urogram last week which I am waiting on results. I am 39 and have parkinson s disease I was diagnosed at 36. I was recently told by my parkinson s nurse I have poorly controlled parkinson s and in January my neurologist prescribed me Sinemet 25mg/100mg once at night to try stop the dystonia I get in the mornings he also informed me I cant go more than 4 hours without medication. I additionally take 4 times a day Stalevo 150mg, Azilect 1mg once a day, pramipexole 1.57mg once a day and motilium for feeling sick. I would like to know if the combination of medication would cause blood in urine. Any information would be most grateful, kind regards. Lorraine

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
In most cases, blood in urine is caused by urinary infection or urinary stones so you should do urine analysis, urinoculture and kidneys ultrasound to rule these out. Also, vesicoureteral reflux may be possible cause which is anomaly of bladder but can be easily treated. You should drink raspberry tea and plenty of water till you do tests- Also, avoid sexual intercourse and have keep good hygiene. You should reduce salt in your diet as well. In most cases this is self limiting but sometimes antibiotics are required and more invasive tests such as cystoscopy or J prothesis insertion.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
