Is Pregabalin Safe For Pain Management?
Question: My name is Dr XXXXXXX and my surgery is unable to control my post-op pain.
The general surgeon who performed this op. has pulled my rectum up between my legs and has done so too tightlly, in order to form a colostomy bag.
The only thing which seems to alleviate the pain (and resuuilting scar tissue which migrates back and forth along my labia), is pregablin.
My qquestion to you is in 2 parts. Firstly, what is the highest dose of the drug (pregablin) they are able to give me, without incurring serious side effects and secondly, do these have to be given at a certain time (other than 12 hours apart).?
Tthank you for your consideration
Yours faithfully

600 mg per day is the XXXXXXX dose.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar, a neurologist, here to answer your query.
Though XXXXXXX dose is 600 mg per day for neuropathic pain, but commonly 150 mg per day is used. It can be gradually increased if needed.
Typically, 12 hr interval is used.It should not be used more frequently.
Hope that helps. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.
