Posted on Fri, 1 Nov 2019
Question: I was suffering from severe as and I was operated upon in April 2016 by Dr Mahant at Fortis Mohali where my valve was replaced. Since the last few months I was experiencing the same symptoms. Doctors at the XXXXXXX XXXXXXX told me that I am again suffering from severe as and require repeat surgery. I was referred to XXXXXXX XXXXXXX a few months back. All my tests have been performed, excepting clearance from Pulmonary Medicine. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX is very much crowded and it takes a lot of time to get a test done. Can you help? I am also suffering from sleep apnea, asthma and increased heart rate for which I am taking medicines and using bypap. Again, ablation was performed on me two times unsuccessfully by Dr XXXXXXX XXXXXXX last year.

Brief Answer:
Please refer to the details below

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir

After going through the medical details provided by you and all your medical report summary attached I would like to tell you that as you have received a bioprosthetic aortic valve which has got degenerated again and is causing severe aortic stenosis one more time so this has to be operated anyhow.
XXXXXXX is a very good centres of these types of major surgeries special reoperative surgeries so I would suggest you better to wait there only instead of thinking of changing hospital at this point.

I can see in the summary that ablation was attempted for some arrythmias (type of arrythmias not specified) which didn't helped much, actually ablative procedures have a very good complete cure rate but that happen in small proportion of patients.

So in nutshell it's better to wait and stick to current treatment plan.

Kind Regards
