Question: I took a glass of prune juice, a cap of miralax, and 2 capsules of magnesium citrate. I took these cause I haven’t gone in 4 or 5 days. I finally went today. Seems like I always have hard stool no matter what I do. Just wondering how long until this all wears off and leaves my body. My stomach hurts yet. I know I shouldn’t have taken all these but I was desperate to go. Plus I’ve been under extreme stress, my husband was in a car accident 2 weeks ago, he’s ok, but the car isn’t. I’m wondering if stress causes constipation. How long until these side effects go away? Ty

Brief Answer:
Constipation can be related the following causes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Constipation is not usually related to stress.
It can be related to the poor fiber diet. It also can be related to a low water intake and also spending long period sitting or laying.
So, I recommend to eat a fiber rich diet and drink a lot of liquids.
I also recommend to use exercise daily.

Hope my answer was helpful.

Kind regards!

I also have severe anxiety, would that be part of why I get constipated so much too? Like I have a doctors appointment Tuesday and I’m so nervous about that for a physical. Plus now I feel a little dizzy, last time they told me I had water behind my ears and they told me to get Sudafed the kind you get behind the counter and some stuff to spray up my nose, I still have both of them left. They told me one of my ears had wax in it but never flushed it out. Plus I have a son with autism who is a lot of stress too.

Hi again dear,

If your anxiety has not been controlled, the dosage may be increased.
