Posted on Wed, 24 Jan 2024
Question: I suffered a fall on Xmas eve. The hospital said it was a base/shaft metmarsal 5th fracture, another radiologist said it was a borderline XXXXXXX fracture but still technically a base 5th metatarsal fracture. Treatment weight bearing as tolerated and in a moon boot. What are your thoughts?

Brief Answer:
YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK

Detailed Answer:
Absolutely sir,
You are on a right treatment, keep using the same boot for 1 month followed by physiotherapy for 7 days , weight bearing is totally upto you as tolerated, however if you keep giving weight it will be easier for you to get back to normal after removal of boot.
Thanks
