Question: Hi, I have this infection like thing on both my elbows. It is itchy and only seems to occur around winter, has also happened previously. I have been using some tinea cream which contained it, but wouldn't completely remove it. I have now ran out of the cream and want to know what do next.
Brief Answer:
Eczematous rash, topical steroid, moisturising lotion & antihistaminic
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your complaints and reviewed the attached photograph.
It is not looking like tinea.
It looks like an eczematous rash.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like clobetasol propionate cream on the affected areas twice daily along with frequent and liberal application of a moisturising lotion on the arms .
Also take antihistaminic like tablet cetrizine .
Steroidal preparations are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
I hope to have answered your query and would be happy to answer any further queries.
