Question: I have severe stomach cramps, I was up late trying to pass poop. It got to the point that I thought I was going to die. I finally passed what looked like two hand gernades, then another large mass, then diarrhea. I finally got a little sleep. This morning, I threw up and have had small bloody looking stools. I`m still cramping, but not as bad. What do you suggest I do for relief and anything I should avoid?

Brief Answer:
Probably irritable bowel syndrome, follow the advice below for relief.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms seem to be related to irritable bowel syndrome.

This medical condition is related to inflammation of the intestine.

It is characterized by stomach cramps, constipation and diarrhea.

I recommend to use Buscopan 10 mg three tablets a day to relieve the pain.

I also recommend to use daily probiotics.

I suggest to continue using over the counter laxative option like Miralax.

I also recommend to use a stool softener such as Colace.

I suggest you to use a fiber rich diet and drink a lot of liquids.

I also recommend avoiding stress, which can trigger the symptoms.

Other things to avoid are spicy food, caffeine and alcohol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
