I Have Several Red Marks, One Looking Like A Blister

default
Posted on Sun, 28 Apr 2019
Question: I have several red marks, one looking like a blister on one hand. The red marks go up on that one arm too. It started on Friday and it is now Sunday. They itch a little. They are not on my other arm. I have tried vitamin C lotion, essential oils such as citrus fresh and lavender from Young Living, antibiotic ointment and aloe vera that I have had on hand awhile. What could this be? What else should I do?

Brief Answer:
May be herpes zoster. Require further confirmation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and here is my advice. If possible, kindly upload image.

As per your history, it seems to be herpes zoster infection.

For that you may require tablet aciclovir 800 mg 5 times a day and for pain you can take tablet motrin 400 mg every 6 hourly after detailed medical examination by Dermatologist.

For itching continue tab. Claritin(loratidine) 10 mg once a day. You can also apply ointment containing aciclovir 5%, lidocaine.

Other possibilities may be contact dermatitis. Avoid allergens like beauty products. Use loose cotton clothes.

Take balanced diet and take proper skin care.

Let me know I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale.
