Question: I have rhabdomyolysis, I was just released from the ER with a CK level of 32,700. Would it be safe to travel to Mexico right now?

Thanks for the query.

Rhabdomyolysis can lead to complications like acute kidney failure and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).
Values of up to 20,000 IU/L may be tolerated without an untoward event.

You can check your kidney function test (KFT) and coagulation profile prior to travel, if the renal parameters and coagulation profile are normal, you can safely travel.

You have to do the followup lab test to check whether the CK level failing or not. If the value keeps on increasing, there is a chance for complications, so you need to consult your doctor without any further delay.

I received a call from my doctor, my ck levels are at 26,000 from my last blood test, but my liver functions are very high, would you recommend traveling today?
