Question: I have had pain in upper right side abdomen the last 10 days. Now it has radiated into my lower abdomen and this morning my testicles were sore. the pain is only a discomfort and not causing any other issues. there is no blood in urine and my blood tests were normal. Just wondering could it be kidney stones or gallstones if the pain is not affecting me too much?

Brief Answer:
It may be. Kindly do ultrasound abdomen and pelvis. see details.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I can understand your concern. At your age, causes of right sided abdominal pain may be gall bladder stone or cholecystitis, gas, indigestion, renal stone, bladder stone, colitis, hernia. Generally causes of pain radiating to testicles are renal stone, urinary stone, hernia, herniated disc, spinal injury, severe muscle sprain. Let me know please do you have fever, burning micturition, nausea or vomitting, abdominal bloating? Kindly follow up with detailed history.

I'd suggest you to do ultrasound abdomen and pelvis, urine analysis. Treatment mainly depends upon underlying conditions. Now for pain you can take tab. dicyclomine 20 mg and paracetamol 500 mg. As these are the prescription medications, so please consult with your family doctor. Along with that do regular exercise at least 30 mins a day. Take light food. Drink lots of fluids. I think this will clarify your concern. Thank you.

Thank you. I have an ultrasound booked for this week. I have no other symptoms other than the abdominal discomfort that comes in waves. My bowel movements and urination is normal. No fever or nausea. Slightly gassy but not much. Any other advice for me? I am worried it maybe cancer?

Brief Answer:
Follow up with ultrasound reports. See details.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome back.

I can understand your concern. As you do not have any complaints regarding bowel and urination, it's good. Nothing to worry. As per your history, it may be Indigestion or stone. As per your history I don't think that it may be a cancer.

I'd suggest you that kindly follow up with ultrasound reports. Treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition. Kindly follow all measures as suggested earlier. I think this will clarify your concern.

I have had all blood tests and other tests and ultrasound have been clear. I have been stressed the last week could that have played a part? I do not feel sick and my energy levels are normal. Do you feel it warrants further investigation and if so who do I go to? I am not worried about it as surely something would have showed up in the tests I have listed

Brief Answer:
I don't think so. See detailed answer.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome back.

Thanks for reply. As all investigations and ultrasound are normal and you do not have any symptoms at present, so I don't think that you may require further investigations. Stress may be the one of the reason for that.

I'd suggest you to monitor the weight for next 1 month and if there is significant weight loss then we have to investigate it. Along with that be stress free, take proper diet, do regular exercises. I think this will clarify your concern.
