I Have Dark Patches In The Groin Area
Question: I(male) have dark patches in the groin area. They came few years ago and then disappeared. They are appearing again now.

Hi.
It is flat. There is no clear boundary, but rather it fades in color down the leg. It is darker skin, no oozing any liquid. More heat and sweating increases the surface area.
Currently not taking any medicine.

Hi again,
Thanks for reverting with details. From your description, it could be fungal or allergic in nature. A photo would have helped narrow the diagnosis. You can try an ointment called Zole-F which is a combination miconazole (antifungal) and fluocinolone (steroid) twice a day for 3 days. Also wear loose and cotton underwear. Do not use soap or any other chemicals on it. For long term application you may use coconut oil.
If you see any sudden changes in the rash, appearance of any sundden symptoms or the above ointment doesnot work, then discontinue the ointment and see a dermatologist immediately.
